Club Championship Update

Last night saw my annual attempt to beat Bob Fenn in the Club Championship fail yet again.  Despite having the White pieces against him for the first time in my chess career, I couldn't win the game.

I mistakenly allowed a tactical mess to ensue and by overlooking the need for a one move "time-out" from my attack to defend my poor f-pawn, had to fight for the draw, which I secured after a tough fight.  Although I'm sure Bob had a won game and let me off the hook.

Bob has very much been a bogey player for me the last few years and I will need to do a lot of work to try and bring home the full point next time.

George Hollands (167) 1/2 Vs 1/2 Bob Fenn (116).

Snodland Win in Tom Fuller Vs Sittingbourne

Last night Snodland hosted Sittingbourne in the Tom Fuller, emerging victorious 3-1.  The Captain's (Rob Thompson) decision to rotate the squad paid dividends.

Jerry Pol (118) 1 Vs 0 Gary Clifford (118)
Peter Hickey (97) 1 Vs 0 Ron Browning (111)
